Goodies showed up, couldn’t wait to get home hehe. Spark tech coil on plug kit, plug and play specific with all new hardware.
Easy enough
Best kit money can buy
The carbon pieces are some beautiful custom aero shutters, helps with picking up a few extra MPH on the back end of a pass. Not only that, but it makes the car look absolutely sick.
Angry Aero, great bunch of guys!
It’ll look like this when done, photo courtesy of Angry Aero.
Sexy, miss my red 90 AWD
A few other little “rice” mods under the hood that ditch some old components that otherwise would be leaking and looking like shit.
Post up your weekend projects!

I’ll be busy this weekend, but next week I want to get started on swapping the mazda5 seats for the mazdaspeed seats I picked up. Also need to order some heated mirrors and connectors for winter/fall.

Nothing planned for the actual weekend, but I’m hoping to get to a few things on my truck on either Monday or Tuesday.
I need to flush and fill the radiator and change out the hoses. I also need to replace the evap canister. That should be fun because it looks like I’ll need to tilt the bed up to get to it.
I still need to order some brake parts too. I’m just waiting because I’m debating about letting a shop deal with the rears. I haven’t messed with drums in years, and these are original to the truck so they’ve been through ten winters of salted roads. I bet they’ll be fun to get off.

Leave at 7am tomorrow, dad leaves even earliere with his car on the trailer to go racing at a dirt track. Think rallycross but in way more mundane hatchbacks.

Thank you for keeping that DSM alive.
I’ll be camping and then finishing up my heated grip installation on the new bike.

I could finish rebuilding the engine for my 3 wheeler, but I need a new timing chain, and my wife put a temporary crack down on spending.
I have a shed to put up in the back yard so I can have more room in the garage, but it’s supposed to rain all weekend.
Then there’s my eternal XS750 build, with the shed parts taking up some garage space it’s a little tough to work around, but I suppose I could work on that a bit.

I absolutely positively despise doing drum brakes. Especially if they’ve not been tampered with in forever. That’s one time I’d let someone tackle that one. I’d sooner pull a trans and be happier lol

Ooooh XS750, if that’s what I think it is, those are phenomenal. Hate it when the wifey cracks down on spending :(

Heated grips are a godsend this time of year, super solid investment of time and money.
Thanks by the way, love these cars, and come March of 2018, this car will be making a minimum of 500hp.

The only reason I’m considering it is that when I do the evap canister I’ll already need to tilt the bed to the side. If I remove the bed completely I’ll have easy access.
I’ve checked and a local tool rental place rents an adapter to use an engine hoist to pull the bed.

They really are. It’s already down to the 30's in the mornings around here. I was happy to discover I could reuse my controller and just order replacement grips to move it between bikes. $40 is better than another $90.
Someone mentioned in another thread that I need to get a VR4, either Galant or 3000GT. Then I’d have the full stable of unnecessary vehicles: V70R, VFR, and VR4.
It’s really cool that companies are still making stuff for those cars. I imagine the availability has decreased because of time and EVOs but still. Yours looks great and is the best color combo.

Parts are still available through my favorite vendors like extreme psi, MAP, Jay Racing etc. These cars hopefully will never fully die off.
Thanks for the kind words, the black on silver is a combo I’ve always loved. The unicorn color is black cherry, but you’d sooner find boardwalk and park place in McDonalds monopoly before you find one of those lol.

It’s an 06 Silverado. The evap canister sits up above the frame in a little dent in the back of the cab. I have to choose between dropping the tank or tilting the bed to reach it and of the two tilting the bed is easier.

Three cylinder Yamaha, they sound amazing, I really need to keep pushing on that project.
Not a huge deal, we’ve bought a few bigger things lately, a couple weeks to get a little padding in the bank account and it’ll be parts city in the garage again.

The nightmare of having the short bed. If I had the long bed the tank sits back farther and you can actually reach the part with the bed and tank in place.

#1 I LOVE Volvo wagons
#2 That gauge cluster is fantastic, very different and elegant
#3 that interior color is beyond amazing, I’m so in love with that!

I generally prefer long beds but between this one being a demo, the rebates for being the last of the old bodystyle, and me qualifying for an employee family discount I was talked into the short bed. Eighteen thousand off sticker was hard to walk away from.

The whole color combo is very unVolvo. I would love for my car to have that but it already came with the Flash Green price bump. Atacama would have put into crazy person territory. Easily 2x the cost of the car in another combo. The gauges are really cool. They look amazing when lit from sunlight. At night, they’re typical backlit but have LEDs in a portrait lighting setup that just shine on the brushed aluminum.

Those have to be some of the coolest OEM gauges I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of bad ass gauges.

I’m going to try to get a HP Laser printer which is networked through a serial port to play well with Windows 10. It somehow worked with a old PowerMac, so fingers crossed!
